Herb Magic: An Introduction to Magical Herbalism and Spells by Patti Wigington

Herb Magic by Patti Wigington is a lovely introductory book with gorgeous pieces of art showcasing stunning colours. It touches on introductory principles and contains correspondences and information about 40 different herbs and plants, along with a great references section at the end!
Patti has also included recipes and spells that the herbs and plants can be used in, which can be helpful for those just starting out in their craft.
The correspondences and recipes within this book aren’t strictly Wicca-focused, which is great for those who are looking for an eclectic or generic herb book.

There is one topic within this book that I personally don’t agree with. A few of the recipes mention ‘smudging’ when referring to smoke cleansing. ‘Smudging’ is a very specific smoke ritual belonging to several Native American cultures, and when the term or practice is attempted to be used out of context by someone who has no personal relationship or experience with that culture, it is a form of cultural appropriation.

This is overall a good introductory book on using herbs and plants within your own personal craft, with a small amount of correspondences and recipes for each plant. Therefore this book would be good for beginners wanting a short 101 book on the subject.
