Between the Realms is a lovely medium-sized book that outlines a lot of Cornish myth and magical practices. Outlining topics such as Cornish rituals, explaining certain identities, planes of existence such as the Overworld, and different entities (fae, legends, gods/godesses, saints). I really enjoyed diving into various Cornish topics, as Cornwall is a county close to my heart. The chapters are well-written, the included art is very beautiful, and the text contains citations which I really love! I love to gather references to further my knowledge and cross-reference from multiple areas.
There is only one area that I personally didn’t agree with. Mid-way throughthe book there is explanation of ‘magical water’ and speculating that mind over matter is most likely the case (which I am not disputing), however the author links this mind over matter concept to voodoo witch doctors, claiming this is solely the reason that their customers experience positive results. As practitioners not from the voodoo tradition, I find this claim unfounded and a bit unfair.
I otherwise enjoyed the rest of this book, and I will keep revisiting it when wanting to refresh my knowledge in this area.
